Ugh!

These past few weeks have not been good.

Having gotten over the piggy flu just in time to completely fail to even submit my TMA6, I now find that I am several weeks behind on the course and my brain has turned to mush!  I’m even struggling with TMA7 and I have to make that up as I go along! Argggh!!! And now, to cap it all, I found out this morning that I didn’t get the job at Remploy, which is totally gutting after it having dominated my thoughts and life in general for the past three weeks.  I really felt that that was my best chance at finding employment and, having failed in that, I now expect to be unemployed for a while to come yet …

Meanwhile, I have registered for my next OU module, the A216 Art and its Histories starting in January.  During the break I have applied to do the “Start Writing Fiction” short course, to follow up on my mixed success with the poetry short course.  Wish me luck …

… now, back to TMA7.

Post-ET

Well, it’s all over with ET … hardly a resounding success but neither was it a total failure.  And at least I still have my sanity.  Perhaps.  A good (though pricey) night out was had on Friday, though it started out in shaky form … not one but two pints of the quite horrific “Saltash Sunrise” Ale.  Ugh!

On the course front, I’m still running a week behind, and will struggle yet again to finish my TMA on time, but I reckon it can be done.  Meantime I’ve pretty much given up on my A175 course, though I think I’d better check when my second (and final) TMA is due on that one, too, soon.  I got my lowest mark of the course so far on my abortive TMA4 … although still a creditable 68%.  I’ve sent the original draft off to Claire to see what she makes of it.

Anywho, off to LIDL now to get some bread … must try to make these notes more often!

Quick Update

It’s been a while since last blog, so a quick update.  Things are good; as good as they’ve been in a long time.  I finally got my Tradition TMA away (a week late but within the extension). And I got my mark for TMA1 on my poetry course, with a creditable (I think) 68%.

Mum is well (all things considered), the ET case is settled (don’t ask), and today Dane does his sworn witness statement for the Annulment, so even that might happen some time soon!

On the down side, I’m now two weeks behind on both of my courses, and I’ve got three job applications to fill in before tomorrow.  Oh well … better get on with it, then.

I’m back!

Just a quick blog to say I’m back with my new netbook and finally got it all set up the way I had it before … very nice

Writer’s Block

I’m blogging to distract myself from the fact I should be writing poetry.  Only six lines, for goodness’ sake, I should be able to manage that much!

Adele

Can’t believe that, at the very moment I was writing my last post, my mother-in-law Adele was passing away.

Everything now in turmoil. My problems very much in perspective, Yvette not coping too great at the moment. She’s out now taking a long walk, which should do her some good.

Looks like the funeral will be next week, perilously close to Henry’s birthday on the 2nd.

Must really get on with some studying, poetry today I think. Will blog later, maybe.

Long Day, Long Night

Started the day with my fake interview at Remploy, curry night later with the lads, still up at 2:30 listening to the baseball and finishing up installing Windows 7 on my netbook.  Must write more next time …
